MALTA, N.Y. (WNYT) — An employee at a Malta bar was seriously hurt after State Police said they were struck by a car driven by a co-worker in the parking lot.
Morgan Lange, 33, from Glenville, was arrested on a vehicular assault charge after emergency crews removed an individual pinned under her vehicle on Monday evening at Bentley’s Tavern on Hemphill Place, according to the New York State Police.

State Police said troopers responded to a call reporting a person pinned under a vehicle on Hemphill Place around 10:15 p.m. The person was removed from under the vehicle, taken to Saratoga Hospital then transferred to Albany Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition as of Wednesday morning, investigators said.
Lange, the driver of the vehicle, allegedly tried to get rid of an open alcoholic drink from the vehicle right after the incident, according to police. Investigators said Lange made the call to emergency services and was on scene when emergency crews arrived.

NYSP say they arrested Lange at the scene and that she recorded a 0.12% BAC, after she was taken to the Saratoga NYSP barracks. Lange was charged with:
- Second Degree Vehicular Assault
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Driving While Intoxicated
- Vehicle and Traffic Law violations
She was released and is due back in Malta Town Court on September 11.
Bentley’s declined to speak with NewsChannel 13. The restaurant reopened at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, after being closed on Tuesday. It’s unclear if Monday night’s incident had anything to do with the closure.
