On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Mr. Jakov Milatović, President of the Republic of Montenegro, paid an official visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, where he was warmly received.
At the entrance of the Patriarchate, akov Milatović and his delegation were welcomed with honors by Grand Protosyncellus Gregory, together with clergy of the Patriarchal Court. The President was then received by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who expressed his joy at the visit and cordially welcomed him to the See of the First Throne of the Orthodox Church. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew asked Mr. Milatović to convey his Patriarchal greetings and blessings to the beloved and devout people of Montenegro.
During the cordial meeting, which was attended by Metropolitans Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Maximos of Selymbria, as well as Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, Director of the Patriarchal Private Office, and members of the President’s delegation, matters of mutual interest were discussed.
Following the audience, the President of Montenegro venerated in the Patriarchal Church, where he was guided by the Grand Archimandrite Jacob.
