The sign worked 100%. The sign spesificly says don’t litter here. The garbage is not there, it’s round the corner.

absolutly no sense of decency or civic pride.
It doesn’t work even if they have cameras around, come to Mellieha, they installed them on Main Street against littering and illegal parking. Aaaaand nothing has improved in a year
Bin juice, dust, filth, grime and a derelict facade… typical of central Mediterranean neglect.
The only time I’ve seen this being “enforced” was when a warden tried to fine my wife for a cigarette butt that another man had just thrown away just before getting on the bus. It was surreal. She has never even smoked a cigarette in her life. He couldn’t get to the guy so he decided to blame it on someone else I guess.
Some localities have placed CCTV on problematic areas, but I guess it depends on their budget. I’d imagine signs are cheaper.
Don’t call you maltese if you don’t litter.
