A man in his late 20s has confessed to having traveled to Troms to meet one then 14-year-old girl, and that he has subjected her to sexual abuse.
This is stated in a press release from the state attorney in New Jersey, where the man resides.
Met at Discord
According to the indictment, the man traveled via France and the United Kingdom to Tromsø and then to Harstad in December 2023. He had met the then 14 -year -old girl on Discord the year in advance.
Evidence obtained by the FBI at Discord shows that in messages he showed that he was fully aware of the girl’s age. After returning home in December 2023, he has shared several pictures of the girl taken at the hotel. He has told about the relationship with others as well. According to the indictment, he was “doxxed”, that is, other users on Discord shared the material.
The investigation of the case has been led by the FBI. Acting federal Attorney General Alina Habba thanks in the press release including Troms Police District and Kripos.

The FBI got tips on the man in 2024, just after he deleted his account. But the FBI was confirmed that he had traveled to Tromsø and Harstad.
The man admitted the relationship when he met before the District Court. He is thus guilty of abuse against a minor. The penalty for this in federal courts is significant – the man risks up to 30 years in prison and fines up to $ 250,000.
Criminal measurement is expected in January next year.

Godt han blir dømt i USA, da, og ikke i Norge
Hvorfor krever han ikke å bli utlevert til Norge hvor lovbruddet fant sted. Da hadde han sluppet unna med to måneder.
