CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Hundreds gathered Saturday at Grant Middle School to honor 14-year-old Cristian Rodriguez, a Veterans Memorial High School freshman who died by suicide in 2018.
Now in its seventh year, the walk – organized by his mother – Christine Martinez, aims to keep his memory alive and encourage open conversations about mental health.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death in Texas for individuals ages 10 to 24.
If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
