North Macedonia and Turkey will sign a protocol for cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation, the Ministry of Education and Science of North Macedonia announced, Anadolu reports.

The ministry said that the determination of the content of the document is in the final stage and was discussed at today’s meeting between the Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, and the Turkish Ambassador to Skopje, Fatih Ulusoy.

“Both sides expressed their willingness to complete the process by the end of the year, while the signing of the protocol will strengthen relations between the two countries and ensure greater cooperation between educational and scientific institutions, exchange of teaching and scientific staff, pupils and students,” the announcement states.

During the meeting, Minister Janevska presented the concept for establishing the first technology park in Skopje, while the Turkish side expressed its willingness to support the realization of this idea through representatives of the Turkish business community in the country, it is further emphasized.

According to the announcement, Janevska and Ulusoy also discussed improving Turkish language teaching in North Macedonia, which is attended by over 8.000 students, through more training for teaching staff and investments in additional teaching tools and equipment.
