A quick look on Wikipedia shows Farage is divorced from his first wife, separated from his second and now in a relationship with somebody else. So forgive me if I don’t give his views on this much importance.

Says the twice married man who lives with another woman.
I mean aside from the blatant dog whistle this just isn’t true?
> the data show that there is very little difference in relationship longevity between homo- and heterosexual couples. Of the 126 same-sex couples and 2,157 heterosexual couples identified in the Manning study, it was determined that 27% of the same-sex couples and 28% of the heterosexual couples ended their relationships within five years of their genesis, and that relationships that ended within three years of their genesis did so at a rate of 22% for same-sex couples and 20% for heterosexual couples (Manning et.al, 2016).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: people keep insisting ‘it can’t happen here,’ but we’re literally witnessing it happen here right now. You can talk all you want about Britain’s *secular institutions*, or our *tolerant society*, but the treatment of trans people demonstrates how rapidly all that can crumble when a little bit of far-right money is sprinkled into the right pockets.
If Farage becomes Prime Minister you can guarantee that we’ll see an erosion of broader LGBT+ rights, because that’s precisely what those paying him want.

We really are in the era of politicians saying whatever wild shit corroborates the preexisting bigotry of their cult like followers. It’s actually not fair to solely blame him for this, because he’s just regurgitating what his followers want to hear. Are the politicians bad, or are we just getting what we deserve? I’ve been following British politics closely since the Iraq war awakened me, and I honestly think we need a bit more personal responsibility as far as how fucking abysmal our politicians are. We live in an information age where you could be sat on a bus on Wandsworth bridge, and do the ten seconds or less of typing into a search engine, that would show this statement to be the bullshit that it is. We really are absolutely useless.

Lots of of the turbulance in hetero relationships can come from the difference in emotional experience between men and women.
It stands to reason that gay couples probably have an easier time seeing the same perspective.

Marriage isn’t necessarily the yard stick of stability some people think it is. Plenty of stable relationships exist where the parties aren’t married, whether hetero or homosexual.

Male couples are very similar to heterosexual couples in terms of divorce rates. Lesbians are a bit higher. But honestly what’s the relevance? Are we about to stop same sex marriages based on divorce rates? Is that really the metric we care about? Especially coming from a man that’s basically a polygamist at this point.
