Agron Demi from the Atlas Institute has reacted after the publication of the international organization’s latest report. International IDEA on the state of democracy in the world for 2025, where Kosovo is declining in several key areas.

Demi emphasized that democracy is not only the victory of the majority, but also the representation of all, equal rights, inclusive participation and the rule of law – areas where Kosovo, according to the report, has taken steps backward.

“Kosovo has fallen far behind in all of these, but especially in the area of the rule of law. The ruling party, even after five years of government, continues to criticize the judiciary for politicization, but all that remains in the end is the fact that the Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior, and the MPs of the ruling party are not accountable to the judiciary at all, refusing to appear in court hearings or for questioning by the prosecution,” said Demi.

According to the IDEA report, Kosovo has fallen:

18 seats in the area of the rule of law;

8 seats in participating in democratic processes;

6 seats in representation; it has marked an increase of 2 seats in the field of securing rights.

In his reaction, Demi added with irony that this report, like many others, will be described by the government as being written by “enemies of the people, imperialists, capitalists, Sorosists and OIGists, who do not understand the governing logic of this government.” /Telegrafi/
