Please read the full article, it gives a good amount of detail into the prosecutor’s argument and the judges decision, both of which are insane.

He did not commit any violence and no incitement to violence. Free speech is dead in the UK

    >He shouted abuse and argued with police officers tasked with keeping the opposing protesters apart.

    >Following the unrest, Poole has now been jailed for 30 months.

Ridiculous to get any time for that, let alone 30 months. Yet nonces with cp get a suspended sentence.

  3. Blasphemy laws now in full effect it seems. Ridiculous situation especially as it says he didn’t commit any violence and there was no evidence of violence either

  4. 30 months with zero crimes committed

But were totally not living in a two-tier system

Free speech is truly dead in this country

  5. Right…so UK law is now imposing Muslim blasphemy laws on us all…TF?

    Edith: fuck that headline

Another guy pleading guilty who would have a high chance of no conviction in front of a jury, given juries are very sympathetic in these free speech scenarios. We’ve become a state where people just plead because our court system is so painstakingly slow and arduous, and possibly we have lawyers here giving bad advice to line their pockets. As Ricky Jones has shown; never plead guilty.

  7. Ricky Jones a Labour Counciller can shout into a microphone to a crowd “We need to cut their throats and get rid of them all”.

But this man can’t say “Who the f**k is Allah” and be sented to 30 months in jail. He took no violent actions himself, or incitement to violence.

    Two Tier.

  8. The headline is actively misleading and presenting that statement as the primary cause of his sentencing when there’s no evidence for that.

  9. They always bury the lede with these articles. He plead guilty to violent disorder and was shouting threats at the police. The chanting probably had little to no impact considering almost everyone there was making those same chants

  10. Worth noting he pled guilty to violent disorder, so presumably his lawyer thought they had no chance.

But then it’s made clear that he neither did nor directly incited anything physically violent.

Basically being charged for being a pain in the ass to police over several locations while shouting anti Islamic things.

Yeh don’t be a dick is a good rule in life. But 30 months is an absolute joke. Community service at best, really just take him away from the area for the day and tell him to stop being a dick.

  11. But that’s no the reason he was jailed was it? The fascist cunt plead guilty to violent disorder.

  12. Without having read the article…I’m already 100% sure he’s not been banged up for that 😂
