IMC: Now Kosovo citizens can complain about content on TikTok, response comes within 24 hours

The Independent Media Commission (IMC) has announced a new collaboration with TikTok’s European office to handle complaints about content that may affect the integrity of local elections in Kosovo, but also on issues of violation of media standards outside of election periods.
This was announced by Besnik Berisha, chairman of the Independent Media Commission, on the Përballje Podcast on Telegrafi.
“I can mention that we also have an agreement with TikTok’s director for Europe. As the Independent Media Commission, we have agreed that complaints that come in relation to TikTok, we can address them directly there. They have voluntarily committed to handling any complaint sent by the IMC within 24 hours,” he said.
According to him, this mechanism creates a direct channel of communication with the platform, ensuring that any content suspected of violating privacy, inappropriate content or that may cause significant harm is reviewed and a decision is made within a very short period of time.
“Citizens now have a clear address to send their complaints. After receiving the complaint from the IMC, TikTok reviews and decides on the content within 24 hours,” Berisha added.
