In an interview for Radio DukagjiniIsmaili said that Kosovo has never had a better Minister of Culture than Çeku, praising him for bringing artists closer to institutions and for the projects he has supported.
“He is the first person who has shown me that the Ministry of Culture is our home. For the first time, some artists who previously didn’t even know where it was have set foot in this ministry. We were so torn from our home until Hajra came. They simply embraced us, and I couldn’t ignore her,” she said.
Ismaili added that Çeku has helped him realize a non-commercial artistic project, which he described as important because of the cause it addresses.
“For the first time, it has helped me realize a project that is not commercial, we know that it is not materially rewarded, but it has a very problematic and sensitive cause for the male-dominated world. We live in a kind of patriarchy,” she emphasized.
In the end, the singer said that Çeku’s work as a minister makes her believe that he could be a good mayor of Pristina.
