Car import from Germany – F-Gas ID

I would like to buy a car in Germany and import it to Switzerland. For the export from Germany, there is a recent EU regulation that requires an F-Gas ID which tracks the export of products containing fluorinated gases, including cars.

I wanted import-butler.ch to take care of the import but they require me to give the F-Gas ID of the dealer in Germany. However, the dealer in Germany does not do exports, so they don’t have an F-Gas ID.

I’m not sure who’s right but my guess is that import-butler should have a German subsidiary that plays the role of exporter and is registered with the German authorities, since I can’t expect the dealership to have the necessary registration if they don’t do exports.
