Heiress? Ok… So she was unemployed?

So upset rich family blasting their opinion in the papers?
Big issue if it is real, but it needs to get some verification

NHS failed her. Basically killed her out of neglect.
Healthcare in the country is such a hit and miss.

She saw her oncologist. Her cancer doctor. For an insect bite.
Might having a touch of cancer been a contributing factor here?

Not sure the NHS was involved here.
Sounds like she visited a private hospital given she saw her oncologist initially and then had a home visit from a GP. The NHS doesn’t operate like that.

This reminds me of the billionaire who recently died after swallowing a bee.

There’s an assumption going on here that the NHS failed her, but nowhere does it say that she went to an NHS doctor or hospital.
1. She had a home visit from a doctor – possible but not typical.
2. She visited her oncologist – again, it’s unlikely you’d be able to just go visit an oncologist.
3. It says she went to “a London hospital” – if this was an NHS hospital you can be damn sure they would be naming it.

Rich person dies as a consequence of poor NHS care caused by lack of NHS resources caused by rich people.

My sister got turned away several times over a bug bite and ended up with sepsis.

To all the redditors arguing that the wealthy are going to move out if we raise their taxes – they all going to move out once they realise UK services are so underfunded a simple infection or a pothole can kill them here.

Doctors here have that go to for everything…. Paracetamol 🙄

‘turned away’ is absurdly strong language for being triaged and given antobiotics. It’s a shame of course that you can also click on the little ‘text version’ of a Sun newspaper article page to avoid all ads and cookie consent forms. A great shame

I will have bad allergic reactions to bug bites.
When I was younger and spending more time in the local park, I had instances where I got bitten on my forearm and my chest hurt at night as if I was having a heart attack. I then traced the pain to the massive and nasty bite on my arm.
The problem is, every fucking time I go to the GP asking for solutions, the doctor will have a difficult time determining whether to prescribe me antibiotics or an antihistamine. I had to convince him by showing the well-infected site, which had pus coming out of it, that it was, in fact, infected.
