      Ο θρυλικός αεροπόρος Μαρίνος Μητραλέξης σκοτώθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια εκπαιδευτικής πτήσης στη θαλάσσια περιοχή της Τήνου εξαιτίας μηχανικής βλάβης που παρουσίασε το αεροσκάφος στο οποίο επέβαινε (19 Σεπτεμβρίου 1948).
