Türkiye’s national basketball team closed out an impressive EuroBasket 2025 campaign with a silver medal, falling short in the final against Germany but delivering one of the best performances in its history.
This marked the second time the 12 Giant Men reached the EuroBasket final.
Following the tournament’s conclusion, FIBA released its updated world rankings. As expected, Türkiye made a remarkable leap forward thanks to the silver medal run.
Previously ranked 27th, the team jumped 15 spots to claim the 12th position, surpassing basketball powerhouses such as Greece, Slovenia, and Italy.
At the top of the rankings, Olympic champions the U.S. remain in first place. Newly crowned EuroBasket champions Germany moved up one place to second, while Serbia, who disappointed at the tournament, dropped from second to third.
