Hello everyone,
I try to prepare a birthday surprise for one of my best friends and I would really need your help.
He is an architect and has submitted a project for the Yugoslav Pavilion K67 – a small modular fiberglass construction that has become an icon of design in the 20th century. If you grew up in the former Yugoslavia (or even in some parts of Europe), you certainly remember them: these pavilions were everywhere-newspapers, flowers, snacks were sold and very often transformed into small Fast-Food places or grill. Designed in the late 1960s by Sasha J. Makhtic, the K67 was produced serically and exported, and today it is recognized as the classic of modernist industrial design, with specimens being kept in museums around the world.
My friend turned this short story into a Lego set. There are currently 6.4K supporters, but it has to reach 10K to be viewed at all by Lego – and it only has 194 days left. Without these 10K, the idea will not even be opened.
It means a lot to him, but of course, for me, as well as everyone around him – including his wife and young daughter. He has put a huge love in this project – he has already organized two exhibitions for the K67 in Belgrade and has even been invited to television to talk about it. But despite all his passion and effort, the pace of voting began to slow down. I understand – the K67 looks like a rather “local” idea, not as globally recognizable as a castle or spacecraft.
That’s why I’m writing here. I know that reaching 10k voice would mean the world to him. Even if Lego rejects the project later, the very reach of this threshold would be a great recognition. But if it fails, it will be very disappointed – as if all the energy, exhibitions, interviews and labor have gone unnoticed.

It’s just one click, but it can mean a whole year (or even a lifetime!).
Thank you from the heart! And who knows – maybe one day we’ll see the K67 Red Pavilion on Lego store shelves around the world. Ва
– A friend
PS I’m from Serbia and yes, I used Chatgpt to translate this into Bulgarian! 🙂
