Around the Town Events launched its first Health and Wellness Expo, aiming to connect the Abilene community with local health resources.

The event, held at the convention center, brought together a variety of local businesses and providers dedicated to supporting individual health.

Philip Barone, CFO of Around the Town Events, emphasized the importance of the expo. “Today we’re hosting a health and wellness event at the convention center. I love that we’ve brought together local wellness experts from around the area so they can be seen by the public. It’s a great step forward in promoting community health care,” he said.

Barone noted that many residents are unaware of the health resources available in their area. “My wife, and I found that a lot of people are just not aware of what’s available in. And so sometimes even the perception is that there’s just not a lot of things that’s available for health, and so we put this together to show people what’s out here and just how abundant resources are for health and wellness and self-care,” he said.

The event saw a strong turnout, which Barone found encouraging. “It’s our first, of hopefully many wellness fairs here. We’ve had a very good turnout, and we’re glad for that because it means it’s reaching a lot of people,” he said.

The two-day expo featured a wide range of local businesses and providers, from lactation specialists and midwives to massage therapists, med spas, fitness experts, and holistic practitioners.

The event was designed to be family-friendly, catering to individuals of all ages, from newborns to the young at heart.
