WILMINGTON, North Carolina – A pair of second-half goals by Osei Gyamfi and Jake Shannon keyed a 4-2 win by the UNCW men’s soccer team against Charleston on Saturday evening at nCino Sports Park.

Gyamfi became the first Seahawk to score in three straight games since 2022 when his 54-minute goal capped a four-goal day for the Seahawks following Shannon’s eventual game-winner two minutes prior.

UNCW’s Bryan Miralrio enjoyed a three-point day beginning with the game’s first goal in the sixth minute on an assist by Jack Clarkson before fashioning his third assist of the season on Gyamfi’s score.

Charleston’s Matt Lenert then fashioned a brace with goals in the 22nd and 37th minutes, the latter being a penalty kick conversion to put the Cougars ahead 2-1.

However, UNCW’s Gavin Carmichael evened the game four minutes later with his first goal of the season on a cross from William Ampofo, his third of the season as the teams entered halftime tied 2-2.

Both teams totaled 12 shots in the match, with UNCW holding a 10-6 advantage in on goal attempts.
