Would rather those potholes get filled then.
With everything going on, to have the energy to care about flags or vandalism (you see graffiti everywhere anyway) is just beyond me.

Stop taking the flags down and fill the holes instead. Pretty obvious decision to make.
They should have sprayed the flags in the potholes if removing flags is a priority.

Did they go on to explain why they have so many potholes and what was stopping them from being filled in prior to the nasty men putting up flags?
Here’s a thought. Removing the flags would be an ideal activity for those doing a bit of community service, the only cost being a bit of paint. Then they could do those pot holes as well. Win win and everyone happy.

Hang on, so are we saying that we could save a lot of money if all the potholes in the country were painted as Union Jack or St. George’s Cross? Perhaps we could train the painters to fix the holes as they go and make it a “win win” or maybe a “game changer”
Painting the English flag on a roundabout is just desecrating the flag itself.

They say it like they didn’t have the money to fix the potholes and that’s why they weren’t fixed. It magically appeared to remove flags though?
Melts are taking over the country. Can we not just agree the crosses are tacky ?
Can’t they just get the people who get caught doing it and get found guilty doing it to have to clean it up in community service ? Would it not save them money outside of the paint which could be used for pot holes ?
They should have just directed the letter louts to paint potholes.

It’s nearly Autumn and the wind and rain will get rid of most flags anyway. This is pointless.
How about don’t bother removing any flags until all the potholes are filled in?
Seems a bit of a lie doesn’t it? flags means a ladder and two guys with cutters. Potholes are road closed, machinery, and at least 3 guys per pothole plus materials.
Why bother then…who gives a shit just leave them be and do actual jobs that need doing cleaning paint off or portholes that will damage cars hard choice that like….
Could they not re-sell the flags and create an infinite revenue stream? It could end council tax.

if that’s the case, then they should hunt down the assholes who put the flags up, and make THEM pay for taking them down. there needs to be a zero tolerance shown towards these far right POS
They should adopt the policy we have in North Wales and ignore it. We’ve had Welsh Nationalist graffiti (Cofiwch Dryweryn) on stone walls all over the countryside for years.
200 flags removed quicker than 1 pothole filled. Let’s paint the potholes.

Why not go the other way? Take our flags back from the racists.
A bit different since they’re at war, but walking through Ukrainian towns it’s kinda nice to see the flag all over place. Feel we should do it in the UK too. And not just union jack but the st George’s flag is in too. Stop the flags being a thing of shame.
Just paint the flags in the potholes and everyone is happy.
