Although the incumbent government led by Albin Kurti continues to minimize the level of deterioration in relations with the US, Washington says the opposite – the situation in this regard is serious.

Charles Kupchan from the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, has declared that it would be self-destructive if the Government in Kosovo continues to damage relations with such a strong supporter as the US.

 “I think it would be irresponsible and self-destructive if the Government in Kosovo continues to take steps that damage the relationship with a country that has been such a strong supporter,” Kupchan told REL.

He said that Kosovo wants to maintain good relations with Europe and the US.

“Kosovo can maintain good relations with Europe and the US only if it is seen to be negotiating in good faith and in a constructive manner, to move the region forward,” said Kupchan. /Gazeta Express
