For Springfield, Ohio, High School linebacker Taj Powell, a game visit for Louisville’s season-opening win was an impactful moment in his eventual decision to flip his commitment from West Virginia to Louisville earlier this month.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound three-star prospect, who announced for the Cardinals on September 7, was back at L&N Stadium on Saturday to watch Louisville’s 40-17 win over Bowling Green. Once again, the experience left a strong impression.

“The game environment was crazy,” Powell told Cardinal Authority. “The fans showed a lot of love and brought great energy from start to finish. You can tell they really care about the program, and it made the atmosphere feel special. Even though it was a blow out the stadium rocked from the opening kickoff to the last snap.”
