The Legal Office of the Democratic League of Kosovo Branch in Lipjan announces that it has today filed an official complaint with the competent authorities, with a request to identify the authors and distributors of anonymous leaflets, “which contain hate speech, defamation and denigration of the personality of the Mayor, Mr. Imri Ahmeti”, the announcement states.

The LDK branch in Lipjan emphasizes that “this low political practice, which aims to damage the image of the mayor and the institution, constitutes not only a violation of democratic and social norms, but also a legally punishable offense.”

“Similar steps will be taken and will be followed regularly and officially by law enforcement and justice authorities against persons responsible for opening profiles and accounts on social networks that engage in defamation, insults and the production of propaganda with denigrating intent,” it further states.

“LDK Lipjan will continue to defend the principles of honest politics, fair competition and civic respect, categorically rejecting any attempt at degradation and distraction from work and concrete results in the service of citizens,” the announcement concludes.
