Glorifiseringen av Norge i visse amerikanske miljøer er veldig rar og meningsløs synes jeg. Som om vi bor i et eventyrland fullt av herlige mennesker.

  2. I think the whole heritage personality is the most American thing there is. And regardless of what country it is you have roots to, they over-emphasize the culture, the history, and traditions. I mean, they’re more “Norwegian” in terms of personality than any living in Norway.

They do however not hold any Norwegian values, most of the American-Norwegians do not side with Norway in politics, in economics, in education or world view, so we kind of get a mirror of how Norway would be if it was USA by listening to them.

Norway is flawed, heavily! But we have so much to bring to the table when it comes to progressive development of the human kind, but none of that development comes from Americans larping their Norwegian heritage.

I love that people of Norwegian heritage in the USA come to visit to keep in touch with their roots.

I would do the same if I lived in the US.
