Wow – the entirely expected consequences of a policy designed with the primary intent to humiliate trans pupils. Shocker!

  2. I fully expect this topic to get less than 1/10 of the comments or discussions that other topics such as trans people in sports or comments by JKR.

As people seem to care more about a handful of trans athletes competing in a semi pro capacity than literally school children starving and dehydrating themselves to avoid the toilet.

Due to the terror these bigots propagated, but it’s worth literally children suffering to stop “the woke”? Right.

This country is making me sick with this bs rhetoric and how worse it looks to be getting, just look to the US to see how this ends up in a few years.

    Be better people, be better…

  3. This is exactly what the “protect children” crowd wants, to criminalise the existence of trans youth through the back door.

  4. Well, yes. I did this and I finished school in 2012. Just sad to see that nothing has improved since then tbh.

Let’s be honest. Most TERFS and other bigots would prefer that the trans kids kill themselves rather than to live happily as trans people with dignified treatment.

  6. Girls have done this forever, believe me.

The only way to meet everyone’s needs here seems to be the provision of toilets for females only, toilets for males only, and toilets that anyone of either sex and however they identify can use.

  7. Can’t the disabled or staff toilets be made available for trans kids?

I imagine trans kids would be bullied regardless of which toilets they used so whilst the policy is unclear, at least give them some privacy?

I had to do this when I was in school as a disabled student. There was a designated ‘toilet time’ and if you didn’t go then it was generally tough luck. Kind of disappointed to see that this sort of thing still happens 20 years later.

  9. jeeze, school life can be brutal , i can’t even imagine what these kids are going through daily

  10. The thing so many people really need to understand about the anti trans campaigners is that they do not care. They wholeheartedly believe that trans people should pay a high price for daring to be trans in public and the worse they can make it the more likely they’ll “see sense” and detransition

In my day everyone did. Unless they wanted to smoke, hide stolen property or bung up the plumbing with paper towels.

  12. Well, yeah, I’m not surprised. They’re at an extremely high risk of being assaulted for going to the toilet. I would avoid it too.

And yet if you ask the people who’ve been pushing the lines against these kids, they tell you “trans kids don’t exist”

Sorry to break this to you, but trans people aren’t made or programmed – we’ve been around since people have been around, from 2 spirit native Americans to Emperess Elagabalus of the Roman Empire, trans people have existed through deep history and across cultures. We were born and I knew myself something was up since I was maybe 4 years old – and all the shaming did was drive me to suicidal and shame riddled thoughts until I came to terms with it, did something about it and now I live happily with my girlfriend of nearly 3 years.

So tell me, is it really better to have dead trans kids than to just accept and let trans people exist?

And if you’re going to say “I would’ve been fine if you weren’t so loud about it/indocrinating kids” then I’m sorry but being silent as people try to legislate you out of existence, try to restrict your medicine, try to ban you from public spaces, and tell you at your youngest and most vulnerable stage that you are not welcome, then you are and have always been part of the problem, not the solution.
