Sad to see her go, but it remains difficult to avoid a “kick the bucket” pun.

    That’s horrible.

Man, Hetty Wainthrop and Hyacinth Bucket is no longer with us. This truly is the darkest timeline.

  3. “Not the Bucket woman!”

RIP. *Keeping Up Appearances* was my late mother’s fave sitcom: Hyacinth reminded her of her older sister, and she enjoyed getting a vicarious laugh.

So so sad. Two dames I absolutely adore, her and Jane Goodall, died within a few days of each other. She was so talented at both comedy and drama. I remember seeing her reading from the Bible in a video too, the way she read it was transfixing, you could feel the holiness, power of it, even as an agnostic.

It’s really popular in Poland, when I visited a TV channel was playing episodes back to back

  6. What an icon. As a 30 year old I grew up watching this comedies with my dad. Keeping Up Appearances, Dad’s Army, The Good Life and of course our favourite Only Fools.

Have great memories of watching Patricia in Keeping Up Appearances from childhood even though the show ended the same year I was born!

  7. At 96, that’s an impressive high score.
Though it dose mean you have probably outlived everyone you know.
    Sad to see her go.

  8. I was just reading about her life not a week ago, I was so pleased to see she was active in her community even at such an old age. A committed professional to her craft and someone who brought me much personal joy. RIP.

  9. RIP. She was a great actress. A Woman Of No Importance will be much harder watching, from now on.

No, I do not have a special offer on spicy prawn balls. This is not the Chinese takeaway. And will you please get off my white slimline telephone with last number redial!

    RIP legend.
