In New York, on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of Namibia, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi.
The ministers discussed current issues of cooperation within international organizations and prospects for future engagement. Special emphasis was placed on mutual support with regard to resolutions and candidacies, highlighting in particular the importance of Namibia’s support for the resolution on the “Status of Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia, and the Tskhinvali Region/South Ossetia, Georgia.”
The conversation also addressed the regional security environment and related challenges, as well as the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. Both sides underlined the necessity of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
