Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani spoke today during the change of command ceremony of KFOR in Kosovo, where Turkish General Ozkan Ulutas will return to this position after Enrico Barduani completed his mandate.

Osmani said that Kosovo has proven itself as a country dedicated to the values of democracy, freedom and collective security and that the aspiration to join NATO is not only strategic but also an indicator of who Kosovo is.

“The people of Kosovo have always been aligned with the values of democracy and collective security. Therefore, our aspiration to join NATO is not just a strategic choice, but an indicator of who we are,” the president declared.

“Kosovo has proven itself with stability and reform. We will continue to do so alongside our allies,” he added.

Osmani said that strong and determined responses are needed against those who violate security and who aim to undo all the progress made over the years.

“Partnership cannot be granted to those who commit aggression against neighbors,” Osmani said.

This sentence by President Osmani seems to be a result of recent developments where the US is getting ready to launch the Strategic Dialogue with Serbia, while Kosovo’s preparatory phase has been suspended. /Express/
