Osmani at the KFOR Change of Command: Kosovo will always remain grateful for your service
During the KFOR Change of Command ceremony, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated that for more than two decades, KFOR has been the cornerstone of peace, security, and stability in Kosovo and the region.
She emphasized that the people of Kosovo stand by the values of freedom and democracy, and therefore, as Osmani said, Kosovo’s aspiration to join NATO is not merely a strategic choice, but a reflection of who we are.
“Kosovo will always remain grateful for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to peace. I hope that this mission continues to stand as a symbol of NATO’s sustained engagement and as a living promise that, together, unity truly overcomes all. This great cause undoubtedly requires the effort of each of us. Historically and today, the people of the Republic of Kosovo have always stood by the values of freedom, democracy, and collective security. That is why our aspiration to join NATO is not simply a strategic choice, but a reflection of who we are. In times when threats to peace are increasing, the alliance is stronger when it stands by partners who have truly demonstrated their commitment. Kosovo has done this consistently—through our resilience, our reforms, and the determination of our people. And we will continue to do so alongside our allies, because only together can we ensure that the hard-won peace of today becomes the lasting peace of tomorrow,” she stressed.
Furthermore, President Vjosa Osmani added that this reality will only be complete when the flag of the Republic of Kosovo stands alongside all the flags we see here today, as a proud member of NATO.
“The determination of Kosovo will remain unwavering—in defense of these values, in defense of our sovereignty, and in defense of every inch of our territorial integrity. Only when we act united in defending these values can we dream of a whole, free, and peaceful Europe. A reality that will only be complete when the flag of the Republic of Kosovo stands alongside all the flags we see here today, as a proud member of NATO,” she said.
