It goes up to the areas most exposed to the Russian offensive. Not to testify from afar, but to walk next to those who resist, give body to hope and show that Europe does not resign or silent in front of the attack

For a year we have been working on the mission that starts today until October 5, We are more than 110 activists from all over Italy on the road through Ukraine, up to the region most exposed to the Russian offensive. What unites us? From the morning of February 24, 2022 we ask ourselves the same thing: what would happen if a million European civilians poured on the eastern border of Ukraine to say, together, “stop the Russian invasion. No to this aggression”? The European movement of nonviolent action – Mean – was born from this simple and radical question, shared in those hours when Kyiv resisted the occupation

I prevent possible comments:

  • Going to 2/300km from the front in Ukraine is as dangerous as to go to Kiev in the European Embassy since the missiles also fall, indeed above all, in areas much more distant from the front.

  • If a million European civilians pour on the Russian oriental border would not change anything for Putin, unfortunately. If okay, it interrupts the bombings for that half day and then resumes as if nothing had happened. And in any case it is obviously logistically impossible.

  • He is late for the post but I had heard a Bentivogli intervention in a podcast a few days ago and then I forgot it.

But the initiative is however positive and to be praised.
