The chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, has stated that he is accused of attempting to create a “Greater Albania”.

On the show “Jehona Politike” on Klan Kosova, he emphasized that if he had wanted to do such a thing, he would have done it years ago, when he was at the head of the National Liberation Army.

Ahmeti said he had the opportunity to sign a document that was against ideas for a multiethnic North Macedonia, also mentioning Ljubco Georgievski, the former prime minister of this country.

“They accuse me of fighting and working for Greater Albania. If I wanted to, I would divide North Macedonia when I had 15 soldiers. I had the strongest elite of the Albanians in the nation – the National Liberation Army.”

“I had the document in front of me, all I had to do was sign it and sit down with Ljubco Georgievski, whom I respect because he says what he thinks. He, then and now, has not changed his position: he is against multiethnic states. My philosophy is the opposite of his philosophy.”

Ahmeti said he still believes, as before, that North Macedonia can become the Switzerland of the Western Balkans.

“I have lived in Switzerland and I know how a state with four nations works. Why shouldn’t North Macedonia work too? Since 2001 I have said that this country can become the Switzerland of the Western Balkans.”

“I have no regrets at all. I am for a unique Macedonia, for a Macedonia where all peoples are equal. I am for a Macedonia that is a member of the European Union. I am for the removal of borders,” Ahmeti said. /KlanKosova.tv
