he said that she wanted a new forum for dialogue with Putin, but that the Baltic states and Poland were against it because they feared there would be no common European stance on Russia. Her opinion was, "Then we have to work on a common European stance."

It is blatant misrepresentation to divide us

Merkel has never claimed that Poland or the Baltic states are "to blame for the war in Ukraine"

    1. If i can choose one person to blame for this war, it would be close tie beetween Putin and her.

We live in a reality resembling the movie “Wag The Dog”. Titles, clickbaits and emotions are more important than articles and facts.

But I highly appreciate your effort to keep the facts straight!

    3. It’s not a “blatant misrepresentation” and you’re not telling the whole story either. It’s overblown, but her logic was:
      – Putin started to ignore Minsk Agreements
      – we needed a new format of communicating with Russia to prevent relations decaying further
      – the new format was never implemented, largely due to objections from Poland and the Baltic states
      – not long after that, the war started

So there is absolutely a fair way to see her representation of the issue as partially due to actions of Poland and the Baltic states. It’s often misrepresented in reporting no doubt, but to say she did not allude to this would be false too.

It’s pretty clear. What’s obvious to me is that Merkel should start such a discussion WITH Poland and the Baltic states instead of asking them to join Germany and France. This pattern of Merkel’s—and Germany’s in general—of disregarding what others think is not only to blame for Russian aggression but also for European skepticism about the EU as an organization run for Germany’s benefit.

Finally, I really find her lack of self-awareness and self-criticism just baffling and ridiculous. Don’t you?

The resonance in Germany seems to be either “What an absurd thing to say!” or “look who applies for a seat at the board of Gazprom”. If this is meant to divide us, it’s not working.

The old cunt – kurwa sits and barks — as if it wasn’t enough that she was up to her ears kissing up to Putin, she built Nord Stream 1 & 2, and brought in “intellectuals and engineers” from African countries. I hope Budanov sends her a message.

no, she quite clearly implied what has been implied so stop defending her

probably next day she’s gonna blame us for the ww2 and the holocaust too

she with her russia loving politics is responsible for the war, PERIOD.
