Living expenses in Macedonia last month increased by 4% compared to the previous year.
At the same time, inflation decreased slightly, but is by no means falling below 4%. Retail prices increased by 4,1% compared to the same month last year, reports “TV21”.
Compared to September last year, the largest increase in spending is on alcohol, tobacco and narcotics by 9%, followed by recreation and culture by 7%, transportation by 5,7%, and spending on food and beverages by 4,3%. There is also an increase in restaurants and hotels by 3,4%.
The government has announced several times that measures will be taken to stabilize prices. Prime Minister Mickoski also said that measures will be taken that in the short term will probably be painful for citizens, but in the long term will curb inflation.
