The only people I’ve seen at Istanbul airport who don’t bat an eye at these prices are oil-rich gulf Arabs. That’s who they cater to. Everyone else categorically hates it & agrees it’s overpriced.

Son donem 30 ayri ulkede yaklasik 50 farkli havaalaninda bulundum, Turkiye’deki fiyat seviyesini baska hicbir yerde ben gormedim. En son Antalya’da £4.50 verdim 500ml suya. Ayni ucakta seyahat ettigim bir cift McDonalds’da yaklasik £70 harcadi, karinlari bile doymamistir. Olay bu noktaya nasil geldi acaba.
$12 meal.
I once paid a 330ml bottle of water $5 by mistake – by mistake because I was too thirsty and opened the bottle before even paying for it. That was the first, last and only purchase I made at İstanbul airport.
