What’s the back story behind the Promenade Ghetto Palace of Horten?
Everytime i drive past I wonder if it’s the shattered dreams of an aspiring business, or perhaps it’s the working art studio of an aspiring ganja lord?

It’s the old fire station. The architecture is “interesting” and thats why it hasn’t been torn down yet. But it is not functional – the roofs are leaking, the spaces are not useful for anything and everybody (unofficially) just hopes that it will degrade so much that they can finally say that they have to tear it down despite its protected status because it is so delipidated and run down.
Kids have started fires in there three or four times. So a lot of the interior is actually burned out. So the municipality had to board everything up a couple of years ago. I say the kids did them a solid one, trying to use this old 70’s monstrosity now is going to be a nightmare.
