The monument has been set up in honor of the fallen Greeks, British, Australians and New Zealanders in the Battle of Crete in 1941. It is located on the northeast side of Georgiadis Park, on Democracy Street, in the center of Heraklion, Crete, and the sculptures of the monument have been created by the monument.

Πραγματικά, εντυπωσιακό με το μάρμαρο γύρω του, αν και το βράδυ θα ήταν καλύτερο με προβολείς να το φωτίζουν ώστε να φαίνεται πιο επιβλητικό!
Να είσαι από ένα χωριό της Νέας Ζηλανδίας, να βγαίνεις πρώτη φορά εκτός, να ταξιδεύεις για εβδομάδες ώστε να φτάσεις στη Κρήτη να πολεμήσεις, σε ένα άλλο χωριό…
