Kosovo Rapporteur in the EP: Serbia’s interference in the elections is clear, aiming to escalate the already sensitive situation

Riho Terras, rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, has stressed that Serbia’s interference in the elections in Kosovo has “become clear again”. He also pointed out that, just a few days before the elections, Serbian government officials have supported a certain Serb party, and that they have introduced social assistance schemes.
Terras, in his reaction, strongly condemned the pre-election manipulation and interference in the internal affairs of Kosovo by Serbian President Vučić, writes Gazeta Express.
“Serbia’s actions are directly aimed at escalating the already sensitive situation in Kosovo and are clearly hostile,” he wrote, among other things.
He also emphasized that Serbia’s interference in the elections in Kosovo was a concern raised earlier by the EU Chief Observer, Nathalie Loiseau, after the general elections of February 9.

Serbian government officials have publicly declared support for a particular Kosovo Serb party, presented the expansion of social assistance schemes in Kosovo, and announced new short-term job openings in Serbian-run institutions in Kosovo, just days before the elections.
