A New Zealand man has won the title of the person with the longest name in the world.

Laurence Watkins legally changed his name in March 1990 by adding over 2.000 middle names, totaling 2.253 words.

Initially his request was rejected by the Registry Office, but the Supreme Court ruled in his favor.

After this case, authorities changed two laws to prevent similar cases in the future.

Laurence, who worked at the city library, chose the names from books and suggestions from colleagues.

He says the biggest challenge is that his name doesn’t fit on any identification document.

However, he remains proud of his unusual record. /Telegraph/
