Highlights from Malta’s win over Fairfield to remain undefeated.
FAIRFIELD, Mont. – The Fairfield Eagles welcomed in the reining Class B state champion Malta Mustangs, for senior night. Malta entering the contest at a perfect 6-0 as their quest for back-to-back titles continues.
First quarter the Mustangs got to work quickly. It only took seven seconds for Malta to find the end zone. Fairfield would have trouble fielding the opening kickoff, the loose ball trickles into the end zone and Malta would land on it for a quick 7-0 lead.
That opening score would be followed by a Landon Retan rushing touchdown and a Kenan LaBrie scoop and score and Malta in complete control after one quarter of play. In the third quarter Kazner Oaxarart would find Trooper Stiles for an impressive receiving touchdown. Fairfield wold score twice but it wouldn’t be enough as Malta escapes Fairfield with the 27-14 win and they move to 7-0 on the year.
