Vučić comments on Serbia’s defeat last night, links it to the elections in Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has commented on last night’s loss to the Serbian national team against Albania.

Vučić attempted to link last night’s football match to today’s elections in Kosovo, in which, as he says, there is a large participation of Serbs in the northern municipalities. According to Vučić, this has caused “nervousness” in Kosovo.

“Everywhere, until 10 o’clock, the turnout was higher in Serb areas than in Albanian ones. I hope that the Serbian List will win, I hope that they will be able to take back part of the government,” Vučić told reporters in Belgrade, Danas reports.

According to him, Albanians from all regions – from Tirana, through Pristina, to Presheva and Bujanovac – “are drunk after last night’s victory” of the Albanian football team against Serbia in Leskovac.

“I would like tonight to be a slightly more important celebration in the Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija than that celebration. Just as they rejoiced last night with the Albanian flag, so that tonight for a more important issue than kicking a ball, people can rejoice in the Serbian communities,” Vučić said.
