I imagine they didn’t want the two left foot, mojito loving Abacus, splitting the left vote by standing as an independent

“That investigation is taking a while, when will it be done”?

“Erm…would you believe it not 5 minutes ago it landed on my desk, you’re all good”

This is the first good news the tories have had in a long time.

Just a matter of time before you says something divisive and stupid.

      She has not been missed.

I hope they appoint a wrangler to befriend her and keep her out of trouble.

    4. I don’t particularly enjoy Abbott’s contributions and think her antisemitism bit was awful and she was rightly suspended.

But I ask this in good faith. Why is she barred from standing when other MPs who have said far worse things about muslims, chinese people, and trans people are allowed to stand as candidates?

For the record: I don’t think any party takes bigotry seriously, even the one I’m a member of.

    5. This is great news for Starmer – probably the best known Labour MP and back in time to campaign for the election, get her on Sky News now.

Edit – why the downvotes lol?

Do you want another decade of Tories, because that’s how you get it…

If you’re going to welcome this professional gaff machine back, why would you do it during the GE campaign? At least if it was a few months ago it’d be buried by now.

Keep this idiot as far away from the media as possible.

FFS either restore her membership or tell her to sling her hook.

I really don’t like Abbott.. she is a hypocrite, professional victim, rabid antisemite and rabid antiziganite.. she’s a champagne socialist of the highest order. She campaigned against private schools while sending her own child to one

She is the worst kinda politician… But labour are being idiotic by dragging this out . They should either re-admit her into the party or remove her membership and let her stand as a independent like Corbyn..

Well, there it is folks, all our hopes for a change for the better, to get rid of the tories for a while .. is screwed

Oh look. That thing that I said was inevitable that this sub assured me wouldn’t happen, just happened.

Finally a sensible decision, but it should have been made a long time ago.

If Diane Abbott was applying for a public sector job, what would her ‘key achievements’ be on her CV in her near-40 years as a politician?

    13. This is more clear evidence of political interference in the Labour complaint process then Corbyn ever did by trying to expedite cases.

So Labour can’t field a candidate to keep Hackney North and Stoke Newington.

    15. It’s pretty nuts, looking at this comments section, Reading people’s description of her they make them sound like she’s the “devil incarnate”, She’s just an old lady who bumbles around in Parliament with some strange views on stuff.

    16. MaxxxStallion on

Are there any leftwing members of the Labour Party left?

Odd that it’s ok to kick her out because of gaffes, while Starmer said it was ok for Israel to commit war crimes…
