      So another foreign entity buying into uk infrastructure. If the water is anything to go by this absolutely will go tits up in no time.

      People need to stop downplaying how big of a problem this is. If the UK loses its government owned services then it’ll be 50x more expensive to get them back in the future if we want them. The reason we have such a large NHS/other services is because after WW2 it was cheap to establish these things since the whole country was effectively destroyed. If we were to do that now it could take trillions to reestablish all of this.

      If it goes through, surely the Royal Mail needs a rebrand? Or at least drop the crown.

      Don’t have high hopes for this. I love Czechs but corruption is kind of wild there and many just accept it because during Communism, according to one of my students, “if you don’t steal from everyone else you’re stealing from your own family”.

      Of course, I wouldn’t doubt if we had similar corruption in Britain but we sweep it under the rug. Definitely feels like the dirt if enterprise I’d rather remain in government hands since at least if there is a scandal someone can go to prison
