AlphaTheta and shesaid.so have joined forces for their new (micro) MEETSSS programme in association with Equal Beats programme, with the aim of spotlighting three up-and-coming Romanian artists.

shesaid.so’s MEETSSS cultural exchange initiative has been spotlighting talent from Eastern Europe for much of this year, with the last MEETSSS having taken place in Bucharest in June.

On October 8, shesaid.so held a “(micro)” MEETSS event in London in partnership with AlphaTheta’s Equal Beats podcast, which aims to encourage gender equality in electronic music.

Held in Camden, the Equal Beats x (micro) MEETSSS event featured a series of panel talks and networking opportunities, as well as performances by three guest artists from Romania.

The first is DJ MĂ-TA, a familiar face in the Romanian scene, having made appearances at festivals such as UNTOLD, Electric Castle, and Neversea. Meanwhile, Evelina is making moves in the live electronic scene, as part of EVE+POL, committed to developing and encouraging female artists to explore electronic music and production.

The third is Admina (he/him), a multifaceted artist whose work spans feminist poetry, queer audiovisual work, alongside being a producer and DJ.

All three took part in a three-day exchange with shesaid.so, AlphaTheta and other partners to immerse themselves with London’s music scene.
