Romania’s current account recorded a deficit of EUR 2,664 million in August 2025, narrowing slightly from EUR 2,695 million in the corresponding month of the previous year.

The goods account shortfall decreased to EUR 2,629 million, compared to EUR 2,908 million in August 2024, while the services account surplus widened to EUR 1,050 million from EUR 951 million.

On the other hand, the primary income gap expanded to EUR 921 million from EUR 837 million, while the secondary income posted a deficit of EUR 164 million, shifting from a surplus of EUR 138 million a year earlier.
