The Community Health Collaborative (CHEC) serves as a hub to deepen school-wide partnerships at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health with the Northern Manhattan community. It connects Columbia Mailman faculty, students, and staff with local organizations, leaders, and residents to encourage collaborations that support real-world public health solutions that address health disparities and target health equity for all.
The Collaborative works to ensure a healthy community for all local residents by fostering genuine and equitable collaboration between our neighbors and the Columbia Mailman School faculty, staff, and students. This innovative community-school collaborative addresses health disparities that have long plagued city communities and fully engages community members in applying state-of-the-art public health models and thinking to neighborhood challenges.
While the Community Health Collaborative is an initiative of the School, CHEC is all of us, and all are welcome.
