The Assembly is reviewing today the request for the development of a motion with a debate finalized with a resolution regarding the recognition of the Serbian genocide in Kosovo and the relevant obligations of the Albanian government, proposed by a group of DP deputies.
The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his speech, stated that, “during the period 1998-1999, barbaric Serbian forces committed around 100 documented massacres against its defenseless population in Kosovo. Thus, around 1400 children were killed.”
Berisha then listed the victims caused by Serbs in Kosovo.
“Those who trample on their blood, their sacrifice, this terrible genocide, they are not non-Albanians, but they are not human, they are at the level of primitive man or animal. But you cannot present yourself like that.”
“These figures I gave you are from the resolution of the Kosovo parliament, which we should adopt immediately,” Berisha emphasized.
“To deny the Serbian genocide in Kosovo, to deny oneself as Albanian, to deny the conscience of the nation, means to be a being without a social, human, or national conscience,” Berisha said.
After Berisha’s speech, the proposal of the SP group to hold the vote on the resolution at the end of the session was approved. /ATAH/
