There’s an interesting theory related to the Gaia hypothesis that every part of the ecosystem functions as a body part of the whole. And in that theory humanity is the earths reproductive system, our job is to ensure Gaia reproduces to another world.
I’m amazed at how many PHDs are narrow-minded morons.
Yeah we are not going to live in space. We are 3 billion years of evolution to live in one environment and it is the only place that we know of in the universe at this time that supports us.
Absolute revelation… Carl Sagan was literally saying the same thing 40 years ago. The problem is that there is no political will to make it happen. Aside from the fact that going Offworld would require an international cooperation.
Our evolution will become a function of necessity guided by our own hand off-world. In a 1g gravity-well the human form is exquisite in it’s mastery of the environment…in space we’re nothing more than fish out of water.
I can’t take a statement seriously when someone “argues” that something “may” be an answer.
