Hollidaysburg’s Cole DeLattre (4) celebrates his TD with JJ Stultz.
WILLIAMSPORT — Hollidaysburg needed just four plays to score its opening touchdown on its first possession and from there, never looked back, en route to a 69-6 rout at Williamsport on Friday in Week 9 to remain undefeated.
It was Williamsport’s fourth consecutive loss after starting the year 4-1.
Play of the game: After holding Hollidaysburg on a goal-line stand, Williamsport took over on its own 5-yard line to close out the first quarter trailing just 13-0. But after a fourth-and-9, Williamsport attempted to punt and saw disaster as Hollidaysburg got three players into the back field and blocked the punt. The ball stayed in bounds and Isaac Wallace fell on it for a touchdown. The score put Hollidaysburg up 20-0 and shifted any momentum Williamsport had after stopping Hollidaysburg on the 5 in a two-score game.
Player of the game: Hollidaysburg’s Carter Muth and Cole DeLattre both were outstanding. Muth finished with 11 carries for 166 yards and found the end zone twice, while DeLattre ran for 76 yards on nine attempts and had two rushing touchdowns and also threw for 62 yards.
Unsung heroes: Hollidaysburg’s offensive line paved the way for the Golden Tigers to rush for an impressive 328 yards on 35 carries and rarely let a Millionaire player into the backfield for a play to go negative yards. Hollidaysburg’s five lineman helped the Golden Tigers accumulate 388 yards of total offense in the rout and led the way with eight rushing touchdowns.

Hollidaysburg’s Vincent Consiglio runs for a touchdown with an interception.
Most vital statistic: Hollidaysburg picked up 13 first downs on the ground in the first half as the rushing attack proved to be key in moving the chains routinely and picking up yardage. The running game accounted for 256 yards in the first half alone.
Hollidaysburg coach Homer DeLattre: “Our passing game, we can throw that in there a little bit, but our running game all year long (has been solid). … We have a good mixture. We have a quarterback who can run like Cole can and Carter, it puts a lot of pressure on the defense. They complement each other very well.”
Williamsport coach Mike Pearson: “Any time you see a Hollidaysburg team it’s always a well-coached team and a really well-balanced team. So there were times we were lined up right and made good plays on the run and the quarterback would keep it. That was one of those things you couldn’t account for. There were times we had the quarterback accounted for and the running back was given the ball. The fact they read you, it’s a really, really well-coached team and those kids did a great job with that.”
Cole DeLattre: “Really for us, we’re told this all the time, it’s getting that first first down and we start getting on a roll. We go up tempo and we can wear teams down very quickly with our size and the strength that we have up front.”
Notable: Muth and Cole DeLattre entered Friday’s game closing in on 1,000 rushing yards for the season and both reached the milestones. Muth ran for 166 yards to give him 1,109 and counting and DeLattre ended Week 9 with 1,016 yards. … Hollidaysburg’s defense held Williamsport to 69 yards of total offense, 50 of which came on the Millionaires’ final drive. … The Golden Tigers forced six punts. … Hollidaysburg scored four different ways with rushing touchdowns, passing touchdowns, a blocked punt fumble recovery touchdown and a pick-6 interception return.
Records: Hollidaysburg (9-0), Williamsport (4-5).
Next week: Hollidaysburg hosts DuBois. Williamsport visits Wilkes-Barre.
