First Lady of Serbia Tamara Vučić expressed her deep appreciation for the strong and close relations between Serbia and Egypt, affirming her commitment to further developing these already distinguished ties.

This came during her meeting with Egypt’s Ambassador to Belgrade, Ahmed Salama Suleiman, and his spouse, as part of efforts to strengthen the historic friendship between Egypt and Serbia.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance the long-standing relationship between the two friendly nations.

Vučić expressed her readiness to offer all forms of support to deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, particularly in the cultural and tourism sectors.

The talks also touched upon enhancing Serbian tourism to Egypt, as well as supporting increased investment flows between the two sides.

Vučić also congratulated Egypt on the election of Khaled El-Enany as director-general of UNESCO in the recent executive board elections.

For his part, Suleiman lauded the depth of Egyptian-Serbian relations, emphasizing that the excellent political ties between the two countries serve as a model of mutual understanding and respect.

He noted that the coming period calls for greater focus on strengthening economic and trade cooperation, in line with the already well-established high-level political coordination.

He also affirmed the commitment of the Egyptian embassy in Belgrade to continuing its efforts to implement the agreements reached between the two leaderships and to open new horizons for joint cooperation that benefit the interests of both friendly peoples.

He expressed his gratitude for Serbia’s support of Egypt’s candidate for the UNESCO director-general post, stressing Egypt’s appreciation of Serbia’s supportive positions in various international nominations.
