Start of the story: I’m having a hard time doing some DIY work because my low hanging cabinet is falling apart. The fault is my BA13 placo and its intrinsic fragility. Of course, I am a tenant but I was the one who installed this piece of furniture 2 years ago and I don’t want to have it on my toes on a Monday morning.
In short, I balance on G….gle a search like “handyman near me”.
Bim, first page, proposal for a site that looks like “I need help” in French in the text. The pinnacle of the uberization of DIY.
Without registering (you still have to verify an email), here I am throwing out a 5-line description of my problem, a few photos and an amount in € that I want to put to resolve my problem.
Less than 20 minutes later, I received 4 proposals from artisans who validated my “mission”.
After a few exchanges with 2 of them, I validate a profile and I find myself entering the numbers from my credit card and validating an online payment with the platform.
I told myself that I am being scammed but too bad, take the confidence. (My partner was laughing at me at this point.)
Appointment is made with the chosen craftsman.
3 days later, the guy parks his van in front of my house and shows up on time to the minute of the appointment. He carries out his mission with professional know-how and precision. I give him a code that will validate his payment through the platform. We leave each other satisfied. (Me with my well-fixed furniture with replacement of the placo, internal reinforcement in the partition… and Him with his money and his 5 stars).
TL/DR: All is not dark on the Internet. It’s not ONLY scams. There are also REAL sites, with real competent people…. Sometimes.

Toutes les personnes talentueuses et tout les arnaqueurs.
Et surtout… tout le porno.
C’est cool de voir un post positif, il est plus courant (car plus motivant) de commenter quelque-chose qui nous a déplu!

Ma plaque vitrocéramique avait rendu l’âme. J’en ai cherché une d’occaz sur le bon coin, et je suis tombé sur un profil qui en vendait plusieurs. Pas trop de notes mais pas mauvaises.
J’ai un peu hésité mais j’ai sauté le pas. Le type m’a demandé si j’avais un véhicule, quand il a su que non il m’a proposé de la déposer chez moi sans surcoût, et sur place il m’a même proposé de l’installer… Comme quoi, on a aussi de bonnes surprises !
Le soucis avec le fonctionnement actuel des systèmes de paiements en ligne c’est que tu joues trop souvent à pile ou face. Les banques pourraient mettre en place des systèmes plus poussés pour protéger des éventuelles arnaques, pour pas qu’on ait à se dire “bon, bah j’ai ptet perdu ma tune!”: Possibilité d’annuler des virements suspects, de savoir si un virement est suspect au moment de le faire (selon le profil de celui qui reçoit la tune) etc.
L’uberisation croissante du secteur des services à domicile, désolé c’est toujours pas optimiste pour moi.

Alors pour l’anecdote j’ai déjà pris un meuble comme ça (plein, forcément) sur les bras. Le truc a commencé a tomber pendant que je fesais la vaisselle. J’ai demandé à mon coloc de vider le truc, et on l’a descendu. À 10 minutes près le truc s’éclatait tout seul comme un grand, emportant probablement avec lui le robinet et tout son contenu…
Au final c’était le placo qui était pourri. Le proprio est venu réparer ça à l’arrache avec 3 tasseaux (c’était un peu un thème récurrent dans cet appart). Bien content d’avoir déménagé dans un appart où les meubles changent pas d’altitude à 2h du mat.
J’ai acheté et vendu pas mal de matos photo sur LBC ces derniers temps (une dizaine de transactions en tout) et tout s’est très bien passé entre gens civilisés.
Vérifie qu’il t’a pas installé des caméras un peu partout, on sait jamais
