i send a package to poland recently and its been stuck in transport for a while now. just wondering is this normal or has something went wrong? any help would be appreciated

Not normal. According to these details it does not appear to have reached Polish customs in the first place.
From which country?
You can get help by asking the package handler, they will provide you information as they are responsible for the delivery.
Where did you send it from? Once I sent one from
the US and this happened, it got lost.
Then delivered 6 months later randomly
Delivery by sea ships (+ transfers and awaiting in ports) can take up to half of year. If there was no space for your package in airplanes, it went to container sea transport. It can happen with every at least standard post packages, but unlikely for letters and very likely if it’s something larger than 1kg.
Use any other tracking site (like 17track) as Polish Post just likes to update the latest state on tracking not showing the previous one when it’s not in the country yet. You should get more info from the operator handling the package and universal postal union.
I recently had a similar issue. I bought a plushie from France and I didn’t get any updates on it for 2 months. The post system just sucks and you have to be patient.
